Welton (Skip) E Mckean

Henniker, NH. Skip McKean (Welton) passed away on December 6 after suffering a medical emergency at home. Skip was born in Goffstown NH on April 15, 1943 to Welton D. McKean and Ruth Williams McKean. He lived in Goffstown and Manchester and at age 13, after the death of his mother, he moved to Henniker to live with his aunt and uncle, Peter and Marion Metopoloes. Skip graduated from Henniker High School in 1961 and worked at the First National Grocery store in Henniker during school and after graduation. In 1963 he started working part time at Ayer & Goss oil company, delivering oil at night after working all day at the store. Soon after, he fulfilled his dream of driving a truck full time and eventually started Skip McKean Petroleum Transport and began hauling fuel products for Ayer & Goss and also many other oil companies.
