Sallie Knowlton Hill

Sallie Knowlton Hill passed away at age 98, on July 7,2025, after 10 years of loving care at the Hillsboro House Nursing Home. Her big smile will be missed by all who knew her.
Sallie was born on May 9, 1927 in Boston, Mass. She arrived in Hillsboro, NH at age 12 under the care of Hamilton and Barbara Rumrill, after her early childhood in Swampscott, Mass. Soon after graduating from Hillsboro High School in 1945, she married Arthur F. Davis Jr., who continued in the US Air Force after WW2 as a career officer. Sallie raised 2 children, Peter and Pamela while following her husband to various Air Force stations: Biloxi, Miss, England, and Oklahoma City, retiring to Sunapee, NH in 1964. Having divorced in 1969, she married Fred W. Hill in 1975, and eventually retired in Hillsboro, NH.
Sallie is survived by her two children, 3 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren. At her request there will be no service or memorial.
