Robert G. Hatfield, 87, of Walker Hill Road died on Monday, June 10, 2024, at the Granite VNA Hospice House in Concord.
Robert was born on October 29, 1936, in Plainfield, NJ, the son of Douglas and Elizabeth “Betty” (Graham) Hatfield.
Robert’s parents moved to Peterborough in 1945. He spent his childhood there and attended Peterborough Schools.
Robert served in the US Army from 1958-1960. After the military he went on to travel the world before returning to NH to obtain his bachelor’s degree from New England College in Henniker.
Robert worked as a tax administrator for the New Hampshire Department of Revenue, from 1969 until his retirement in 2000. He served as town auditor for the town of Weare from 1973-1993. He also owned and operated the Maplehurst Inn in Antrim alongside his wife, Peggy. He was also part owner of Diamond Acres and Johnson’s Dairy Bar and kept busy managing multiple rental properties.
