Robert Glen Giglio (1955-2026)
Robert Glen Giglio, 70, passed away peacefully in his sleep on March 30, 2026. A man defined by his unwavering work ethic, sharp wit, and legendary generosity, Robert left an indelible mark on every community he called home.
The Journey North
Born on October 3, 1955, in Melrose, Massachusetts, Robert was the son of the late Rosario Robert Giglio (of Malden, MA) and Patricia Barbara (Green) Giglio (of Melrose, MA). Robert attended elementary and middle school in Malden before moving to New Hampshire with his parents as a young man. He graduated from Hillsboro-Deering Cooperative High School in 1973 and later earned his Associate degree in Industrial Electricity from New Hampshire Vocational Technical College in 1975.
A Legacy of Hard Work and Family
In 1976, Robert began what would become a remarkable 50-year career at New Hampshire Ball Bearings (NHBB). He remained a dedicated mainstay at the company until his passing, cherished by a "work family" built over five decades of mentorship and friendship.
From 1986 to 2013, Robert resided in the Longwoods Mobile Home Park. During these twenty-seven years, he was a devoted father to his two sons, Timothy and Mark, providing a stable home and a strong example of hard work while he grew his career at NHBB.
In May 2013, Robert and his son Timothy purchased a home together in Washington, NH. This move marked a special chapter for Robert, as he settled into the community to be closer to his son and family. He quickly became a beloved fixture at the Washington General Store breakfast and lunch counter. Known for his sharp wit and overwhelming generosity, he was affectionately nicknamed the "Richest Man in Washington." Whether enjoying a Bud Light or listening to live music by Chris Powers, Robert's presence brought humor and kindness to everyone he met.
Massachusetts Roots & Heritage
While he built his life in New Hampshire, Robert remained deeply connected to his Giglio roots in Malden and Gloucester. He was part of a generation shaped by the four Giglio brothers: Rosario, John, Billy, and Jimmy. This heritage was a cornerstone of family life, marked by years of weekend trips to Gloucester and cherished overnight stays with his cousins.
Family
Robert is survived by his sons, Timothy Robert Giglio (and wife Tammy) of Washington, NH, and Mark Wayne Giglio (and wife Aliesha) of Newport, NH. He was the proud grandfather of Felisha, Lucas (and wife Kristen), Hailey, Izabella, Willow, and Loki; and great-grandchildren, Jamison, Darryn, Brooke, Oakley, and Zoey.
He is also survived by his uncle, James "Jimmy" Giglio; his aunt, Irma Giglio; and his dear cousins: Johnny, Steve (and Brenda), Debra (and Scott), Sue, JoAnn, and Sandy (mother of Bobby Giglio); Maureen, Billy, and Jimmy Jr.; and Valerie. He leaves behind his former daughter-in-law and dear friend, Jodi Giglio.
Robert was predeceased by his sister, Karen (Giglio) Edwards Davidson; his uncles, John and Billy; and his cousins, Joe and Danny.
