Surrounded by her children, Marilyn (Putnam-Lindstrom) Mitchell, 87, died peacefully on December 14, 2024. The sixth of seven siblings, she was born in New Ipswich, NH to Gerald and Bertha (Maxwell) Putnam and spent her childhood in the Putnam Homestead on Ashby Road.
She attended Appleton Academy where she was a cheerleader and played girls basketball. She married Charles Lindstrom and bore five children, later raising them as a single mother. She was a member of the New Ipswich Congregational Church where she sang in the choir and taught Sunday School for many years. She was blessed with the unbreakable, lifelong friendships of Hazel Cotzin, Vera Stacy, Kathy Allen and Jean Randle, also of New Ipswich. The Lord later blessed Marilyn with her dear husband of 30 years, Donald Mitchell, who predeceased her in 2009.
