Lori Ann Stevens

Lori Ann Stevens, 64, of Hillsboro, passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2026. Born on August 21, 1961, in Hillsborough New Hampshire, she was the daughter of the late Howard Porter Jr and Beverly Kijewski.

Lori grew up in Hillsborough and graduated from Hillsboro-Deering High School. After high school, she attended Northeastern University and graduated in 1984 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. With a passion for caregiving, Lori became a Registered Nurse and Certified Rehab Nurse and began her nursing career in California as a home care clinical director and then a case manager. In 1996, she started at Healthsouth Rehabilitation Hospital in Concord having held many positions such as case manager, team leader, director of Nursing, and charge nurse. In 2006, she joined Cheshire Medical Center on night shift on the Farnum Rehab Unit, until her retirement in 2024.

In her free time, Lori cherished spending time with her family - traveling to Ohio to visit her daughter, watching her son build a house from the ground up, and staying actively involved in school field trips and sporting activities while her children were growing up. She was an excellent baker and cook, known for everything from making whoopie pies for the farm stand to preparing full Thanksgiving and Christmas meals for her family and loved ones.

She enjoyed hosting parties and gatherings with the girls, paint nights with friends, trail riding on horseback, playing cribbage at the Moose Lodge, and listening to Celtic music. She was actively involved in Girl Scouts and community service activities, participated in NHHSET for many years as a board member, and was a longtime parishioner of Smith Memorial Congregational Church.

She is survived by her loving husband Edward E. Stevens; sons Jon M. Matthews, Gregory A. Stevens; daughter Kristina M. Stevens; brother Oren Porter; and grandson Colt Jon Matthews. She is predeceased by her mother Beverly Kijewski and stepfather Bill Kijewski; father Howard Porter Jr.; and several aunts and uncles.

A visitation will be held from 4:00PM to 6:00PM on Saturday, May 30, 2026 at Holt-Woodbury Funeral Home, 32 School St, Hillsboro NH.

Donations in memory of Lori may be offered to Challenged Champions, a non-profit organization that enriches and improves the lives of children and adults with mental, physical, and emotional challenges through facilitated equine activities located in Ottawa, Ohio.
