Kathleen A Gundeck

Washington, NH Our beloved Kathleen Gundeck (affectionately known as “Cassie”) was called home to our Lord on January 7, 2025. She was born the first child of Stanley and Helen (Stossel) Gundeck on July 17, 1938 and graduated from Port Chester High School, where she attended business courses that provided her with the knowledge and skills she needed to sustain a career as a secretary. She secured numerous jobs throughout her professional career, culminating with her last position working for an attorney in Stamford, CT. Throughout her younger life, she enjoyed her bowling and softball leagues with friends as an outlet after work. More importantly, however, was her faith. She was an active member of the Sacred Heart Church Choir, which continued to be an integral part of her life until she moved out of state. While still residing in Port Chester, she also enjoyed time in Washington, NH, where her parents had built a house that was filled with their three children and all their grandchildren on weekends. This home provided the family with much love and entertainment throughout the years. Upon retirement, Cassie purchased her own home in Washington, NH, where her sister also permanently resided. They spent many years together there enjoying each other’s company, as well as the company of their brother when he came up on weekends. Cassie was a solitary individual who asked for little, but loved her home, her family and most definitely the casino. She is survived by her sister Dolores (Dede) and her husband Julian Modzeleski, her sister in-law Patricia Gundeck, seven nieces and nephews: Paul (Lisa) Modzeleski; Kim (Brooks) Bishop; Kristin (Stan) Partyka; Christopher Gundeck; Kelly (Jeff) Blizzard; Michael (Claire) Gundeck and Joseph (Aida Cakalli) Gundeck, and many grand- and great-nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents and her brother, Stanley Jr. Cassie's gentle spirit and kind heart will be sorely missed by all. Rest easy our sweet angel.
