Joyce Bumford

Hillsboro, NH & Arden, NC. --Our loving Mother, Joyce Ellen (Wheeler) Bumford passed away peacefully at The Oaks of Sweeten Creek in Arden NC, on Feb.18,2024 at the age of 86 yrs. old. Joyce was a lifelong resident of Hillsboro NH, until 2020 when she relocated to NC to be near family. Joyce graduated Hillsboro High School in 1955, first taking a job with the American Guernsey Cattle Club as a typist and through the years, also owned a thrift shop, was an avon representative, and waitressed at the Copper Lantern Resturant. She was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school and lead a women’s bible study group. For several years, also a member of the Rebekah Lodge. Throughout her life, she enjoyed gardening, crossword puzzles, crocheting, playing cards, stock car races, riding back roads with a DD coffee with her music up loud. She was a voracious reader who kept the library busy and loved her Red Sox. Joyce was predeceased by her loving husband Clifford “ Bob”...
