Grace Regina Gordon Rock, much loved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away July 7th, 2025. She was 82 years old. In her final moments she was surrounded by members of her loving family, including her husband of 60 years.
Grace was born on August 21, 1942 in The Bronx, New York to Arthur and Grace (McCall) Gordon. She was the second youngest of 10 children. Grace graduated from the Academy of Our Lady of Good Counsel High School in White Plains, NY and attended Fordham University where she studied Elementary Education.
In 1965, Grace married the love of her life, Jim Rock. In their 60 years together, they joyfully welcomed 9 children, 37 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren into the world of love, faith, and adventure they created.
Grace embraced an adventurous life that included running a dairy farm in Vermont, founding the Vermont Homeschooling movement, evaluating grants for the Department of Education, volunteering at hospice and at the St Vincent De Paul food pantry. At the age 56 Grace started a new adventure with her husband and moved to Ireland where they lived for 10 years. In Ireland, Grace continued her life of service and love.
Grace loved Amish quilts, wearing Irish wool capes, making yogurt, growing and canning homemade preserves, watching meteor showers, fireworks and traveling. Grace traveled to Spain, Portugal, Itay and Scotland, but her favorite pastime was being with her children and grandchildren.
Of all the things in her life that brought her joy the most cherished was her Catholic Faith. She sought nothing less than that her family, friends, and acquaintances would share in the ultimate joy of knowing Our Lord. She lived everyday with that goal in mind.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Tunnels to Towers Foundation or St Gianna's Place, Londonderry, NH.
