Georgeanne Wood, 75 of Warner NH passed away on May 6, 2026, after a series of illnesses.
Georgie spent many years of her life as a resident of the Henniker/Hillsboro area. She was born in Rapid City, South Dakota and spent her early childhood years traveling with her family across the world as her parents served in the military. After her family finally settled down in Henniker, New Hampshire, she graduated from Cogswell Memorial High School in 1969. That same year she married her high school sweetheart, David R. Wood of Hillsboro. They were married for 39 years until Dave's passing in 2008.
Georgie was a loving devoted mother to her three children and a well-known woman in the Hillsboro area, first as a cashier at the little IGA, later as the Assistant Manager at Aubuchon Hardware, where her vast knowledge in hardware impressed even the most skilled tradesmen. She worked at Riverside Precision Sheet Metal in Henniker before retiring.
Georgie enjoyed knitting, crocheting, loved to travel, she was a antique car club enthusiast and enjoyed a great tournament of cribbage with the family.
Georgie was pre-deceased by her husband, David Wood Sr., her parents George and Mary Beasley of Henniker, a sister Patricia Stafford of Hillsboro and a brother John Beasley of Bradford. She leaves behind two sisters, Sandi Beasley- Loman of Hillsboro and Marie Knowles of Hudson, Florida. Her children, David Wood Jr. And his wife Monica of Lake Placid, Florida. A daughter Deanne Wood and fiancé William Iler of Fort Walton Beach, Florida and her son Todd Wood of Warner New Hampshire, as well as six grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will take place on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, from 6:00-8:00pm at Holt-Woodbury Funeral Home. Burial will take place in Butler Cemetery in Deering at the convenience of the family.
