Elizabeth “Betty” Cole, age 77, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2026. Betty was born on May 10, 1949, in Concord, NH to the late David and Helen (MacKenzie) Hammond. She graduated from high school in Antrim, NH, before continuing her education at Hesser College in Manchester, NH, where she earned her degree.

Betty held many positions throughout her career, including working at Fernald, Taft, Falby & Little, and then spent many years at SDE in Peterborough, NH. She was an avid reader who enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, especially relaxing weekends at home, camping, and spending time at the beach. She was always supportive of her husband and stood by his side as he pursued his dream of farming in Indiana, embracing each new chapter and adventure together.

Once retired, Betty and her husband were able to spend a couple of winters in Florida, enjoying the warmth and time together. They also traveled across the country in their RV, creating many special memories and sharing new adventures along the way. These years gave Betty the opportunity to slow down, enjoy life, and spend precious time with the person she loved.

Above all, Betty loved her family more than anything. She cherished the time spent together and always looked forward to the next family gathering, barbecue, or celebration. She treasured the moments shared with her loved ones and the many special memories created over the years. Her love, warmth, and devotion to her family will be remembered and cherished always. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Betty is survived by a sister, Patricia Hammond-Grant of Claremont, NH, a brother David Hammond of Reunion, FL, a daughter Michelle (Cole) Benotti and her husband William of Peterborough, NH, a son Michael Cole, and his wife Nicole of Land O’Lakes, FL, and a stepson Brian Cole of Antrim, NH. She adored her four grandsons, Nathaniel Reed and his wife Tearyn, of Peterborough, NH, Jacob Cole of Antrim, NH, Caleb and Riley Cole of Land O’Lakes, FL. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was predeceased by her husband George “Bub” Cole, Jr., and brothers Donald Hammond and James Hammond.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 12 at 11:00 AM at North Branch Cemetery, Clinton Rd, Antrim, NH.
