Doris E Glendinning

Doris Evelyn Glendinning, 95, of Hillsboro, passed peacefully, surrounded by her family on Tuesday, July 14, 2026 at Concord Hospital.

She was born on February 24, 1931, in Peabody, MA to the late Perley D Lovelace and Phyllis (Mason). She attended Framingham State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree.

Doris married John H. Glendinning Jr. in a simple ceremony surrounded by her loving family and friends. They shared many wonderful years of marriage before his passing in 1995.

Family was at the heart of everything she did. As a devoted homemaker, loving grandmother, and cherished great-grandmother, she found her greatest joy in caring for those she loved and creating lasting memories together. She was the proud owner of D&J Outlet in Somerville, Massachusetts, where she enjoyed serving her community. She was an active member of the Daughters of American Revolution (DAR), the Order of the Eastern Star, and the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War Auxiliary (SUVCW). In her free time, she found happiness in cross-stitching, reading, working on word search puzzles, and researching her family's genealogy, a passion that allowed her to preserve the history of those who came before her. She will be remembered for her unwavering devotion to her family, generous spirit, and the warmth she shared with everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Doris is survived by her loving sons, Scott and his wife, Judy, and Peter and his wife, Angie. She also leaves behind her grandson and 3 great-grandchildren.

She leaves behind a loving family and friends who will forever hold her memory close She is predeceased by her beloved husband John as well as her parents Perley and Phyllis.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2026 at 11:00am at the Hillsboro Methodist Church, 16 Henniker St, Hillsboro, NH. Burial will take place immediately follow church at Harvey Memorial Cemetery, Shedd Rd, Hillsboro, NH. A collation to follow at the Masonic Temple, 16 Gay Ave, Hillsboro, NH.
