David F. Whitney 87, a lifelong resident of Hillsboro, NH., joined his bride Patricia A. (Wing) Whitney in Heaven Thursday June 26,2025.
Born September 10, 1937 to Harry L. and Harriett S. Whitney at their home on Whittemore Street. David graduated from Hillsboro Schools in 1955. He continued his education at New England College and joined the N.H. Army National Guard, serving 6 years as a Radio Communications Operator before being Honorably discharged in 1961.
David was an Engineer at GTE Sylvania Retiring after 32 years to spend winters with his wife, family and friends in the Caribbean Isles Community, Apollo Beach in Florida. David was an avid Hunter and fisherman with the Deering fish and Game Club and a member of Hillsboro Methodist Church.
David and Patricia were married in 1955 and spent 65 years together working, traveling, raising their children and enjoying their grandchildren.
David is survived by his children, Gary D. and Kimberly Whitney of Hillsboro, Alan M. Whitney of Nashua, and Michelle and Norris Dozois of Washington, his 9 grandchildren Jeoffry, Chris, Heather, Jason, Katie, Amanda, Greg, Samantha and Hannah and 21 Great Grandchildren and 1 on the way.
David is predeceased by his parents, his wife, daughter-in-law Patty Whitney, Grandsons Jonathan M. Whitney & N.J. Dozois, Siblings Lillian Titcomb, Harry Whitney Jr., Walter Whitney, Charles Whitney, Robert Whitney & Ernest Whitney.
Please join the family for a graveside service on Sunday, July 27, 2025 at 1:00pm in Harvey Memorial Cemetery, 18 Shedd Rd., Hillsboro. Directly following the graveside service there will be a Celebration of Life at the American Legion Post 59 in Hillsboro.
