Andris Serzans

Andris Serzans, 87, of Contoocook, New Hampshire, passed away on June 19th surrounded by his loving family.
Andy was born May 15, 1938, in Riga, Latvia, the son of Peteris and Lucija (Jakobsone) Serzans.
He was a 1958 graduate of Natick High School, Natick, MA, and of Burdette College and Franklin Pierce College, earning a degree in Economics.
Andris served in the US Army Quartermaster Corps from 1958 until honorable discharge in 1961.
He married Florence Margaret Trefry July 26, 1969, in Natick, MA and they enjoyed almost 56 years together.
Andris worked for many years in the banking industry, both in MA and NH. Following this, he worked for Transformer Services in Concord, NH, and at retirement, he and his family owned and operated Main Street Pizza in Henniker for 10 years.
Andris enjoyed nature as an avid fisherman and gardener. He was very proud of the large vegetable gardens he raised each year, despite an ongoing battle with woodchucks. He was also a life-long Red Sox fan.
Andris is survived by his wife and their three children; daughter Andra Serzans, sons Karlis Serzans (Molly Fredyma) and Peteris Serzans, as well as their two granddaughters, Isabella Serzans and Sadie Serzans. He also enjoyed the company of his honorary grandson Alexander Franklin of Fredericksburg, VA.
Private interment will be in Contoocook Village Cemetery with Military Honors conducted by the Hice-Shutes American Legion Post #170.
