Adelemarie Bohanan

Adelemarie (Foster) Bohanan, 85 of Contoocook, New Hampshire passed away at home on Sunday, February 2, 2025. Adele was born in August of 1939 in Newton, Massachusetts, the daughter of Leslie and Priscilla (Kendrick) Foster. She grew up on a farm in Weston, Vermont and later moved to King Elm Farm in Cornish, New Hampshire where the family raised Morgan horses and dairy cows. She was a Western show horse rider, competing regionally in fairs and other contests. Adele attended the Thompson School at the University of New Hampshire where she studied horticulture and animal husbandry. She married Glenn Bohanan in May of 1962 in Cornish. They were married for 62 years, until her death. Together, they raised four children on Bohanan Farm. In addition to working on the farm, she drove a school bus for 14 years where she was recognized for her quick thinking and steady nerves when a brake failure on the bus endangered the lives of the students on board.
