William Stephan Maguire

Antrim, NH William Stephan Maguire passed away May 3, 2024. He was the son of Joseph Leo Maguire Sr. and Katherine Louise (Tedeschi) Maguire. While growing up in Rhode Island, Billy enjoyed many interests. He was an avid Red Sox fan, (although he did not always agree with management decisions) and Patriots fan. Billy graduated from LaSalle Academy where he was a wrestling state champion. While working at Electric Boat, he played on several softball teams. He bowled at East Providence Lanes and competed in many tournaments. He bowled a 300 game and two 800 series. He was an avid runner and played in several golfs leagues. Upon graduating from Community College of RI, Billy, and his wife Kathy, moved to New Hampshire where they welcomed the birth of their son, Ryan. Billy pursued a career in computer networking. He worked for several different companies as he progressed up the ladder. He finished his career at Monadnock Community Hospital where he had designed and implemented their network infrastructure. In his spare time, he trained for triathlons and his true love, the sport of golf. Through the years, he had golfed at Angus Lea, Crotched Mountain, and Bretwood Golf Course. He made many good friends sharing his love of the sport. Every fall he would head south for a week of golf and comradery with friends from RI. When not golfing, Billy and Kathy spent many an hour on Franklin Pierce Lake floating on their pontoon boat enjoying the sunsets with many friends and family. Beside his wife and son, Billy is survived by his brother Joseph Leo Maguire Jr. and his sister Kathleen Ida Maguire-Rossi and his many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was the first to show at most parties and often the last to leave. He was intelligent and knowledgeable on many subjects. He loved listening to music, playing drums and attempting to play guitar like his idol, Jimi. The Holt-Woodbury Funeral Home & Cremation Service Hillsboro, NH is assisting the family.
