Sally J Watson

Weare, NH Sally Jane Watson, 76, passed away peacefully in her home on January 1st, 2025. Born in Miami, Florida on May 18th, 1948, to Sam and Helen Sutton. She graduated from North Miami Senior High in 1966. Years later, Sally met and married the love of her life, Rodney William Watson Sr., on October 1st, 1974. On April 20th, 1981, she joined the Metro Dade Police Department, then graduated BLE #56 ranking 3rd in her class of 27 people. Sally finished with an average of 91.55, with the highest average in the class being a bit higher at 92.30. During her tenure as a Police Officer, Sally received a Department of Service Award, along with several commendation letters. Sally retired from Metro Dade due to injury in 1991 and relocated to Weare, NH, where she happily lived out the rest of her years as a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many. Sally is survived by her husband, Rodney; her daughter, Penny Lynn Watson; her son, Rodney William Watson Jr.; and his wife, Stephanie Watson. Sally has two grandsons, Roy and Nikolos Watson. Additionally, Sally is survived by her brother, Christopher S. Sutton of Virginia; her sisters Dora Tsongranis and Pamela Sutton (Delano-Lalla) of Florida; her sisters Helen Poplawski and Betty Baril of Connecticut; and her sister-in-law Sherrilyn Sutton, who was the wife of Sally’s late brother Nicholas S. Sutton, both of Arizona. Sally was also preceded in death by her other brother, James S. Sutton of Florida, and her brother-in-law, Nicholas Tsongranis, who was the husband of Sally’s sister, Dora. Services will be held on January 25th, 2025, at Holt Woodbury Funeral Home, located at 32 School Street in Hillsborough, NH. The viewing will be from 2 to 3 p.m., and services will be from 3 to 4 p.m. A Celebration of Life will also be held on January 25th, 2025, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Moose Lodge, 15 School Street, Hillsborough, NH. Graveside services will be held promptly at 11 a.m. on January 27th, 2025, at the New Hampshire State Veteran’s Cemetery, located at 110 Daniel Webster Hwy in Boscawen, NH.
