Joan M. Pike

HOPKINTON, NH: Joan Marie Pike (Scibisz) of Hopkinton, passed away peacefully at the Granite VNA Hospice House in Concord, NH, on January 4th, 2024. Joan, born March 11, 1938, and raised in Beverly, MA, was the beloved daughter of the late Wanda (Phillipov) and Michael Scibisz. She graduated from Beverly High School, North Shore Community College, and various Real Estate programs. Joan married Bernard “Barney” Pike, of Beverly, MA, on March 8, 1959, and had two sons, Steve and Brian, whom they raised in Ipswich, MA. Joan loved her career as a Real Estate Broker in Topsfield, MA, working at Worthen and Company. When Barney transferred to Hillsboro, NH, in 1982, she earned her NH Real Estate license and opened her own office, Town Crier Properties, in Contoocook, where she remained a Real Estate broker until 2015, working with many client’s multiple times. She got the most enjoyment from being with her immediate and extended family, and spending time boating in the Parker River for over 30 years with her family, friends and beloved husband on their boats the Solace, Sundance, and the Sandpiper. The family always had a dog, and the last dog, Maxie, was the most treasured. Joan was predeceased by her brother-in-law, Patrick Quinnett and is survived by her husband, Barney Pike, son, Stephen Pike and his wife, Darlene of Penacook, son, Brian Pike of Windham, siblings, Fran Carbrey of Beverly, MA, Henry Scibisz of Webster, Christine Quinnett of New Boston, brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Carol Rogers of Newburyport, MA and daughter-in-law, Joyce Pike of Manchester. She was lovingly referred to as Babi (Polish for Lady) by her grandchildren, Gregory, Christopher, Matthew, Brock and Brody Pike, Alexandra Potter and Nicole Deshaies, great-granddaughters, Anna and Adelynn and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2024, from 11 to 1:00 pm in the Holt-Woodbury Funeral Home, 32 School Street, Hillsborough, NH. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm, and a reception will immediately follow at Main Street Grill and Bar, 126 W Main Street, Hillsborough. Flowers are welcome, or in lieu of flowers, donations in Joan’s memory may be made to the Granite State VNA Hospice House.
