Anne M. King

HILLSBORO, NH: Anne M. King, 76, of Hillsborough, NH, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 23, 2023 at Granite VNA Hospice House in Concord, N H. She was predeceased by her parents Joseph and Frances Lawless of Middletown, NJ. Anne was born on August, 9, 1947 in Jersey City, NJ and spent her childhood in NJ. She especially loved going to the Jersey Shore every summer with her family. She moved to NH in 1974, a few years after getting married. Anne volunteered for just about anything in town and was on multiple committees at any given time. You would see her at almost any event in town. She would be in the ticket booth or at a table for the Balloon Fest (now Summer Fest), helping with Schnitzel Fest, the Lions Club and Hillsboro Pride. She served as President of HYAA, and was a member of the Chamber of Commerce. She always said yes and was happy to lend a helping hand. Anne spent most of her career working as a bank manager at the Hillsborough branch of Santander Bank (previously known as Valley Bank, CFX Bank, First Essex, and Sovereign). She loved her job and her co-workers and especially the customers who would come into the bank to cash a check or to just say hello. She is survived by her daughter, Kristen (King) Halderman and husband, Blake of Yorktown Heights, NY and by her son, David and wife, Jaclyn (Bearor) King of Deering, NH. She had three grandchildren, Emma and Bea Halderman and Norah King, who she was immensely proud of and loved more than anything. She is also survived by her siblings, Maggie Boland of The Villages, FL, Jeanne McQuade of Georgetown, TX, Joseph Lawless of Simi Valley, CA and Robert Lawless of Flagstaff, AZ. She also loved her many nieces, nephews and close friends who she also considered family.
