HILLSBORO, NH: David Mark Jensen, 55, of Hillsboro, NH, passed away in his home January 18th, 2023 after a lengthy and courageous fight against Lung Cancer and COPD.
A very private person, David would say before you read on, “The following is none of your business.” But he deserves to be remembered and honored as a loving father, caring son, and supportive brother.
David was born in Exeter, NH on March 11, 1967, the son of Eleanor E. (Flaherty) Jensen and the late Richard W. Jensen, Sr. While growing up, he moved all around New England until settling down and buying a home in Hillsboro, NH. His house was his sanctuary; a cozy, peaceful and comfortable residence close to nature that was filled with photos and keepsakes of cherished memories.
David was admired for his determination and fighting spirit. He had an ability to stay true to himself no matter what others thought. He was quiet, kind and enjoyed the simple things in life. He ran on Dunkin's Coffee and enjoyed an ice-cold Budweiser after a long day. He was a hard worker, nicknamed the Energizer Bunny. He was employed as a Lumber Grader at Rex Lumber, one of the top lumber distributors in the country. He loved working with his hands and fixing everything himself, from the vehicles he owned to various house projects. David also built his own furniture, which was a family trade passed down from his father.
David was a proud and loving father to his daughter, Jessica Jensen. They enjoyed shopping, going out to eat, watching movies and vacationing around New England. He shared a special bond with his mother, Eleanor; they always loved and supported each other through life's ups and downs. His loyal and loving dogs, Peachy, Bella and his latest sidekick Skip meant the world to him.
He was a true NASCAR fan. Every year, David went to the Loudon racetrack and watched the races at home with full surround sound. David had an extensive collection of model race cars and NASCAR memorabilia.
David’s favorite holiday was Christmas. He would decorate inside and out, as soon as Thanksgiving passed and would wait until the very last minute to take everything down. He enjoyed watching his loved ones open their gifts and read the perfect heartfelt cards that described exactly how he felt about them.
David will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his mother, Eleanor Jensen, daughter Jessica Jensen, three brothers, Richard Jr., Kevin, and Walter Jensen, two sisters, Sharon Poitras and Virginia Battle and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his dad, Richard Jensen, Sr. and his sister, Alison Johnston.
There will be no funeral services at this time. To fulfill his final wishes, a Celebration of Life and burial will be planned for the Spring at Life Forest on Beard Rd in Hillsboro, NH.
