HILLSBORO, NH: Dorothy Marie Welch, age 66, died peacefully on December 27, 2019, surrounded by friends and family at the Hospice House in Concord, NH.
Born in Wolfeboro, NH, Dorothy graduated from Hopkinton High School in 1972 before earning her Associates in Business Science from Hesser College. Dorothy was a longtime resident of Hillsborough, NH, and worked at several local businesses as an accountant. Her most recent position was with Hillsboro Chrysler.
Dorothy loved bluegrass music, especially from the group “Lunch at the Dump.” She had very fond memories of living at “The Amesbury” commune in Davisville, NH in the early 70s. She was also a proud member of the local weaving group, Blackwater Wooly Weavers. She loved camping at music festivals with friends and family.
Dorothy is survived by her brothers, Roger Welch of Weare, NH and William Welch of Henniker, NH, sisters, Nancy Newcomb of Tilton, NH and Sandra Stewart of Woodstock, GA, five nieces and nephews, and two great nieces. She also leaves behind many lifelong friends. Dorothy was predeceased by her father, Joseph Welch, and her mother, Florence Seymour.
A Memorial Service will be held at Holt-Woodbury Funeral Home & Cremation Service ,32 School Street, Hillsborough NH on Sunday, January 12th, 2019 from 1 to 3pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society or Hospice House in Concord, NH.
