|
Hopkinton,
NH Christine Jill Zapton, died peacefully on February 9, surrounded by family, in Hopkinton, New Hampshire. She was 66. "Jill" as she was known to everyone, was born in Hempstead, New York, on January 18, 1945, the only daughter of Eugene and Audrey Majchrzak. She grew up in Michigan where she met and married her husband, Daniel Thomas Zapton. They moved to Chicago soon after and raised their two children, Amy and Tyler. The Zaptons moved to Philadelphia and later back to Chicago, eventually retiring in New Hampshire. Throughout her life and travels, Jill always enjoyed a good mystery book, watching old movies, cooking for friends and family, spending time with her dogs, tending to her beautiful gardens, antiquing, shelling at the beach, singing anything by Cole Porter and enjoying a perfectly cold Coca-Cola. Most of all, she loved her family. She is survived by her husband, Dan, of 43 years and her two children, Dr. Daniel Tyler (Julie) Zapton of Hopkinton, New Hampshire and Amy Zapton Lynch (Raymond Chauncey Lynch Jr.) of Brooklyn, NY, three lovely grandchildren, Turner, Cooper and Abbot and her brother, Jeffrey Qualls of Florida. A small private service will be held Monday, February 14, at St. Andrew's Church in Hopkinton. Donations may be made to St.Jude Children’s Research Hospital at stjude.org.
