Dorothy J (Parker) Wood, 98, of Deering, NH died November 28, 2011 at the Hillsboro House Nursing Home.

She was born October 7, 1913 in Deering, NH and spent her early years in Deering. The Family later moved to Hillsboro. She was the daughter of the late Maurice Sr. and Janet (Robertson) Parker. Dorothy was also predeceased by her husband Wallace wood, a daughter, Eleanor & a son Maurice, a grandson, Brian Wood, two brothers, Maurice Parker Jr, and Donald Parker, a sister, Jean Parker.

Dorothy and Wallace were married on April 17, 1933. They later moved to Deering, NH where they owned a small farm. She worked as a homemaker and later when the children went to school she worked at GTE Sylvania in Hillsboro, NH.

Dorothy and Wallace enjoyed square dancing, touring Vermont, fishing and country life in general. Dorothy was an excellent cook and baker. Her pies and rolls were prized locally. She was a member of Deering Community Church and women’s guild of Church.

Survived by 3 Sons, Donald wood and his wife Sylvia, of Rowley, Mass, David wood, of Seattle Wa, James wood and his wife Judith of, Deering, NH, 2 Granddaughters, Dawn Walton, of Newbury, Mass, Nancy wood, of Haverhill, Mass, a Niece, Nephew, and step grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Services will be held Saturday Dec 3, 2011 at 1 pm in the Deering Community Church, Deering, NH.

Burial will follow in Wilkens Cemetery, Deering, NH.
