Virginia Bingham Colman

East Washington, NH Virginia Bingham Colman, 103, of east Washington, NH died Friday September 30, 2011 at the Hillsboro House Nursing Home. She was born August 8, 1908 in Chicago, Ill. She was the daughter of Benjamin Seymour and Susan Brinton (Reigart) Bingham, and also predeceased by her husband John C Colman who died in 1990. 1 Brother, Donald Bingham in 1990, and a Sister, Dorothy Stevens in 1990. Mrs. Colman attended schools in Chicago, Ill. They came to NH in 1969 to live in Rochester. Then they came to Hillsboro, NH in 1971 to live. Virginia attended the Episcopal Church, and was also active in the Republican Party, helping to promote candidates and serving at the election polls. She worked as a secretary for 30 years in Chicago, Ill., for the Boys Scouts, Phoenix Mutual Ins. Company, and as assistant Director of the Day School, for handicapped children, in Chicago, Ill. Mrs. Colman was survived by several nieces and nephews. Services will be held Saturday October 8, 2011 at 1 pm in the Holt-Woodbury Funeral Home & Cremation Service 32 School Street Hillsboro, NH. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, in Chicago, Ill. Virginia sailed through her life with gusto, leaving many people smiling with memories of her adventures and warm support. On her 100th birthday friends came from all over the country to share their affection for her. The room was filled with warmth and laughter.
