Muriel I. Brown, 86, of So. Newbury, died on November 25, 2011 at the Merrimack County Nursing Home.

She was born on March 22, 1925 the daughter of the late Wallace and Laura Sands.

Mrs. Brown was a homemaker who enjoyed raising her children, sewing her own clothes and was happiest when the house was shared with many pets through-out the years. She loved to go camping and traveled with her husband in their motor home.

She is survived by her son, David A. Long and wife Lynn of Newbury; and her grandson, Jamie Long and granddaughter Isis Jensen of Newport; grandson Tracy Long of VT; her foster grandchild, Edward Meader of Hillsborough; her daughter, Lorraine Frizzell and husband Scott of Claremont; her granddaughters, April Coull of Charlestown; Tressa Heinen and husband Craig of Charlestown, SC and Julie Ploof and husband Mike of Weare; and 15 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, Bruce Brown and by her son, Joseph Long.

Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, Nov. 30^th from 6 – 8 p.m. at the Holt-Woodbury Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 19 Hall Ave. in Henniker.
