John H Beaumont

John Hurlin Beaumont, 63, of Antrim died Saturday, Feb. 5, at his home after a sudden illness.

He was born Nov. 24, 1947, in Bedford, Mass., the son of Jane C. (Hurlin) and Paul Beaumont.  John lived in Bedford until leaving for college, graduating in 1972 from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Ill.

After graduation, he joined his family’s cutlery manufacturing firm, Goodell Co., in Antrim.  His work took him to Cape Cod in 1979 but he returned to Antrim in 1984, and continued to work for Goodell Co., and later Chicago Cutlery, until the Antrim plant closed in 1989.

He later worked for Troy Mills in Troy, N.H., as manufacturing manager, and retired from Johnson Abrasive in Jaffrey.

John will be remembered for his love of fine art and miniature trains.  He was an avid reader and loved to spend time with his family and many friends.  He was a loving, giving husband, father and grandfather, who will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Julie (Arpin) Beaumont of Antrim; a son, Paul R. Beaumont of Honolulu, Hawaii; and a son, Thomas P. Beaumont, Sarah Hennessy and their daughter, Kendra Lyn Beaumont, all of Antrim.

In addition, John leaves a sister, Sarah J. (Beaumont) Ryder, of Peterborough; an aunt, Priscilla Hurlin, of Florida; and many nieces, nephews and grandnieces.

He was predeceased by his parents; a sister, Martha (Beaumont) Abdel-razzak; and a brother, Steven Beaumont.

There are no calling hours. 

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Feb. 12, at 11 a.m. at Holt-Woodbury Funeral Home, & Cremation Service 32 School St., Hillsboro NH.
