George Parenteau, 74, died Monday July 12, 2010 in Marion ILL. George was the son of the late Rassio and Edna (Johnson) Parenteau. George was born and raised in Concord NH, graduating from Concord High School. He served in the Air Force and the Navy. He spent many years in Antrim and Hillsboro and his later years in Florida and Illinois. His hobbies included fly fishing and golfing.

George was a member of the Antrim and Hillsboro Fire Departments and a member of the Hillsboro Rescue Squad. He was pre-deceased by his brother Wilfred Parenteau of Rumney.

He is survived by his wife Myrna of Cairo Illinois, his brother and sister-in-law Billy and Shirley Parenteau of El Cajon California, Richard Parenteau of the Villages, Florida, and many cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. His son and daughter in-law Stephen and Patricia Parenteau, his son and daughter in-law Michael and Samantha Parenteau, his daughter and son-in-law Denise and Tom Gaberseck, and his greatest joys, his grandsons, Stephen, Bryan, Zachary and Maxwell Parenteau and Drew Gabersack,  all of Hillsboro. Special thanks to his brother in-law, Bobby Smith, and his dear friends at the Egyptian Country Club in Mounds, IL.

Calling hours will be held Sunday July 18, 2010 from 6-8 PM at the Holt-Woodbury Funeral Home & Cremation Service 32 School St Hillsboro, NH.

Funeral service will be held Monday July 19, 2010 at 10 AM at the Methodist Church in Hillsboro, NH, The Rev. Cynthia Nickerson will officiate.

Burial will Follow at the NH Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen NH.

The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Hillsboro Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 350 Hillsboro, NH 03244.
