Galina (Juodakis) Leonas 102, of Bradford, NH died Monday July 12, 2010 in Hillsboro House Nursing Home.

Born October 17, 1907 in Czarist, Russia the daughter of the late Petras & Olga (Lapina) Juodakis. Also predeceased is her husband Algirdas Leonas, who died on April 28, 1983.

She graduated from college and conservatory of music in Lithuania and was a concert-pianist and piano teacher. Galina escaped the soviet occupation of Lithuania in 1944 then came to the United States with her husband and son in 1947. From 1950 to 1970 she was a piano teacher at Peabody Conservatory of music in Baltimore Maryland. From 1963 to 1978 she was employed by the Government on a classified project in Linguistic Research near Washington, DC.

Survived by 1 Son, Algird P. Leonas, of Bradford, NH, 4 grandchildren, Michael, John, Mark, & Kate Leonas, 3 great grandchildren, MacKenzie, Grayson, & Maghan Leonas. 

Graveside services will be held Friday July 23, 2010 at 10 am in Marshall Cemetery, Newbury, NH.

 In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her name to the Bradford Rescue Squad P.O. Box 318 Bradford, NH 03221.
