Deering, NH Andrew J. Lawson, 72, of 7 Longwoods Road, died December 12, 2010, at his home. Mr. Lawson was born in Deering on April 25, 1938, the son of Robert and Ruth (Davy) Lawson. He grew up in Deering and Hillsborough, NH and was a lifelong resident. He attended schools in Deering and Hillsborough. He worked in farming for Maurice Parker. He owned and operated Andy’s Exxon in Hillsborough for many years. He was employed by Framework’s, Inc. as a supervisor for 18 years until he retired in 2002. After his retirement he continued to own and operate a trash removal business and did odd jobs. He was a member of the Hillsborough Fire Department for 34 years and retired as deputy chief. He also served in the New Hampshire National Guard for 10 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post #59, a member of the Moose Lodge #1091 and a member of the Legion of the Moose, having received the Fellowship degree. The family includes his wife and partner of 30 years, Linda (Dumais) Lawson of Deering; one son, Mark A. Lawson and his wife Audrey, of Hillsborough; one daughter, Patricia A. Gregg, of Washington; two step-sons, Allen L. Grendell and his partner Robyn, of Bennington and Mark J. Grendell of Deering; two grandsons, Connor and Colton Gregg, of Washington; three step-grandsons, Lucas and Brandon Grendell, of Bennington and Zackary Grendell of Connecticut; three step-granddaughters, Felisha Grendell, of Washington, Britney Grendell, of Deering and Shauna Driscoll, of Bennington. He also leaves one brother, James Lawson and wife Helen of Barrington, NH and two sisters, Mabel Ager and husband Donald of Hillsborough and Charlotte Groves and husband Larry of South Carolina. He was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Ruth Lawson and by one brother, Robert Lawson. Andy enjoyed fishing, camping and his grandchildren. Calling hours will be Friday from 1-4 pm at the Holt-Woodbury Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 32 School Street, Hillsborough, NH. Service will follow at 4 pm.
