1923-2010

 

George E Cole Sr, 87 of Antrim, NH died Saturday June 19, 2010 at his home Surrounded by his family.

Born in Bennington, NH he was the son of the late Charles and Grace (French) Cole, also predeceased by 2 Brothers, Eugene and Daniel Cole, 2 Sisters, Josephine Door, and Miriam Anderson.

George Ran the Landfill Station in Antrim, NH, and also work for the Antrim, Highway Dept, for many years. Then Owned & Operated Cole Construction Business before his retirement.

He was proud to be a WWII Army Veteran as a tank & Truck driver & also a sharpshooter. He was a Life member of VFW post 8268 Bennington, NH, Myers, Prescott, Olson, American Legion Post 50 Antrim, NH. George loved having his grandchildren, and great grandchildren around him, and loved playing guitar and listening to country music.

Survived by his wife of 65 years Louise (Sweeney) Cole, of Antrim, NH, 2 Sons, George Cole Jr, and his wife Elizabeth of Antrim, NH, Gary Cole, and his wife Michelle of Jaffrey, NH, 1 Brother, Robert Cole, of Bennington, NH, 1 Sister Hattie Trepanier, of Pelham, NH, 5 grandchildren, Michelle & Greg Reed, of Antrim, NH, Brian Cole, of Antrim, NH, Michael & Nicole Cole, of Barrington, NH, Jesse Cole, And Zack Cole, of Jaffrey, NH. 4 great Grandchildren, Nathaniel Reed, Jacob, Caleb, and Riley Cole, and there Great Dear Friends Earl & Barbara Bowling and Frances White of Id. 

Graveside services and Military Honors will be held Friday June 25, 2010 at 10 am in Maplewood Cemetery, Antrim, NH. The Rev Peggi Boyce Pastor of Antrim Presbyterian Church will officiate.
