David H. Ashford, 57 of Woodhill Village Henniker NH passed away suddenly on May 31^st 2010.  He was the son of Ronald V. Ashford (deceased) & Maria E. (Fletcher) Ashford of Henniker, NH.  He is survived by one brother Larry S. Ashford of Concord NH, one sister Linda Vaillancourt and her husband Gary of Berlin, NH, two nephews Calvin and Shaun Vaillancourt both of Berlin NH.  He had several Aunts, Uncles and cousins.

David was a devoted son, who was always helping his mother at her horse farm when he was not at his regular job.  He helped everyone when they needed it and never asked for anything in return.  He was a graduate of Cogswell Memorial High School of Henniker NH in 1971.  Attended the Concord Community College certificate program.

Dave was an avid Harley Davidson enthusiast, having one all his life.  He went cross-country with his father on their Harleys one year.  Dave did many charity bike runs for MS, Toys for Tots and others every year.  He also rode to benefit fallen Police Officer Sean Powers.  He worked at several different jobs, but mostly in the construction field working many years for Fulcrum Construction Associates of Amherst NH.

He loved all animals, especially his mom’s German shepherd (Ginger) whom he shared his iced coffee with every summer night. He will be deeply missed by family, friends and colleagues.

Calling hours will be held Saturday June 12, 2010 from 11:00 am to1:00 pm in the Holt-Woodbury Funeral Home & Cremation Service 19 Hall Ave Henniker, NH.

Graveside service will follow in the New Cemetery, Old Concord Rd., Henniker, NH at 1:30 pm.

Reception immediately following the cemetery will be at the Congregational Church Parish House.

In lieu of flower donations may be made in his name to charity of choice.
