Maurice “Sonny” Allan Parker passed
away Friday January 1, 2010 with his family by his side after a brief
illness. Born in Hillsboro to Janet Robertson and Maurice Parker on August 23, 1930. Sonny was a dairy farmer for many years after retiring in 1987. He spent his winter months in Davenport, Florida. Sonny continued to work summers for Crushed Stone in Henniker, for seventeen years. He was a selectmen and a member of the planning board for the town of Hillsboro for twelve years. Sonny was a proud member of the Hillsboro Fire Department for twelve years. He retired as a Lieutenant, in 1987. He was a member of the Hillsboro Moose Lodge 1091. Sonny enjoyed hunting, gardening, fishing, the ocean, and spending time by his pool. He cherished these moments with his six grandchildren, who he will be dearly missed by. Members of his family include his loving wife of 52 years Teresa Ann (Dumais) Parker, four children Richard and his wife JoAnn of Hillsboro, Don of Homestead, Florida, Dee Dee and her husband Hallie Grimes of Hillsboro, Doug and his wife Wendy Parker of Hillsboro. His grandchildren Richard and Brandy Parker, Christopher and Matthew Grimes, Kristina and Curtis Parker and two great grandchildren Alecia and Tim, and one sister Dorothy Wood of Deering, and many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held Tuesday January 5, 2010 from 5-8 pm in the Holt-Woodbury Funeral Home & Cremation Service Hillsboro, NH. The Loyal Order of Moose Lodge # 1091 Hillsboro, NH, will hold a celebration of Sonny life starting at 7.30 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hillsboro Rescue Squad P.O.Box 350 Hillsboro, NH 03244, or the C.R.V.N.A. Hospice House P.O. Box 1797 Concord, NH 03302.
