|
Jim Connor died March 29, 2010 from respiratory failure after an eight-year battle with sarcoidosis. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Brenda, two children and four grandchildren. Jim was a life long resident of Henniker NH. After graduating from Henniker High School, he briefly attended classes at UNH before returning home to operate Intervale Farm, a second-generation dairy farm on Elm Street. Intervale Farm was the largest dairy farm in Henniker with a herd up to 200 and it was the last Henniker dairy farm to sell milk commercially. Jim continued to harvest hay after his herd was sold and he and his wife grew strawberries on the Old Concord Road in Henniker. Jim was a member of the Henniker Fire Department for 40 years and he was a member of the Henniker Planning Board. A graveside service will be held at the Henniker Cemetery on the Old Concord Road on Saturday, April 24th at 2pm. The family will host a reception in the Connor hayfield adjacent to the cemetery immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent in Jim’s name to the Henniker Firefighters Association, 216 Maple Street in Henniker.
