Mary Cochrane

Mary Cochrane, died on April 19, 2010 at Hillsboro House in Hillsboro, NH after a long period of declining health. She was born in Hillsboro, NH on October 26, 1917, the daughter of John and Agnes Cregan and twin sister of her predeceased brother, John Cregan. Mary attended local schools and graduated from Concord Commercial College in Concord, NH. She then pursued her career at Bennington Paper Mills as a bookkeeper. After her children were grown, she worked as a bookkeeper in the office of Hillsboro House. Mary was married to James (“Red”, “Vaughn”) Cochrane who remained the light of her life until his death in 2006. Mary loved the ocean and watching the seasons change. Her favorite times found her surrounded by family and friends. She was also a longtime member of the Catholic Women’s Club. Mary is survived by her five children and their families: John and his wife Faye of Belmont, Kathleen and her husband Eugene Morrill of Concord, Joanne Petelle of Claremont, Patricia and her husband William Bouchard of Syracuse, NY, Maureen and her husband Andreas Katsavrias of Thiva, Greece. Her grandchildren and their spouses include Alison Cote of Concord, Heather Hunter and her husband Matt of Goffstown, Wendy Morrill of Amsterdam, The Netherlands, Ryan Cochrane and his wife Jaime of Boscawen, Amy Strand and her husband Steve of Boscawen, Kimberly Morrill of Virginia Beach, VA, Sara Haskell of Penacook, Caissie Wilcox and her husband Dan of Hastings, NY, Jade York of Concord, Lucas Bouchard and his wife Sara of Lima, NY, and Jesse Bouchard of Aspen, CO. Mary will be missed by her great grandchildren Justice, Bria, Mya, McKenna, Derek, Isabella, Kaitlin, Brodie and Madeline, as well as her many nieces and nephews. Calling hours for friends and family will be held on Wednesday April 21 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Holt-Woodbury Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 32 School St., Hillsboro. A mass of celebration will be held at St. Theresa Church, 158 Old West Hopkinton Rd., Henniker, NH on Thursday April 22 at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice or to the Hillsboro Rescue Squad, Central St., PO Box 350, Hillsboro, NH 03244. Burial will be at a later date.
