Robert W. Arpin, 80, died Feb. 13, 2010, at Catholic Medical Center surrounded by family. He was born November 20, 1929 to Wilfred and Amanda (McGaunn) Arpin. He was raised in Lowell, MA. Robert was in the US Army until 1947, then joined US Navy from 1947 until 1952 and finally as a Corporal in US Marines 2nd 8” Howitzer Battery until 1954. He fought in World War II and the Korean War. He enjoyed making wooden toys for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and he really loved reading novels. Family members included his wife of 58 years to E. Marguerite (Chartier) Arpin of Hillsboro, NH, a son, Robert H Arpin, of New Ipswich, NH; two daughters Julie A. (Arpin) Beaumont of Antrim, NH; and Nancy M. (Arpin) Muldoon of Lowell, MA. Two sisters, Pauline (Arpin) Betty, of Ma, Irene (Arpin) O’Reilly, of Tewksbury Ma. Ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded by an infant son, William, and four brothers William, Emile, Henry and Armand and both parents. Services: There are no calling hours. A memorial service will be announced. Donations may be made in his name to the American Heart Association NH Affiliate 20 Merrimack St Manchester, NH 03101.
