Elizabeth Ann (Hamer) Vincent
|
Elizabeth Ann Hamer Vincent died peacefully at her lake house in Washington, NH on November 3, 2009. She was born to Joyce Harrison Hamer and Edward George Hamer in Wembley, England on September 25, 1951. She immigrated with her family to Maryland in 1955 and graduated from Hollis High School as class valedictorian in 1969. She trained as a “Practical Nurse” and worked at St. Joseph’s hospital in Nashua NH. She was married to Donald Marvel in 1970 and John R. Duby of Nashua in 1974. She remarried to Robert T. Vincent of Weare on May 12, 1984 and they were married for 25 years. Over the years she worked for Label Art, Jet Aviation, Benchmark, Coulters Realty and the Weare and Washington School Departments. Her most recent venture was learning web site design and web hosting. She was the web master for Wise Lite Arms and several other small businesses.
Liz’s great love was for her family. She was an amazing mother and grandmother and recently lived in RI to help care for her granddaughter Leah. She enjoyed quilting, kayaking and boating on Highland Lake, listening to Toby Keith and spending time with friends. She recently cared for her mother, Joyce, who passed away on May 10, 2009. Liz was extremely generous and a constant care-giver who always had the right words to make you feel better. She will be greatly missed and forever remembered.
Liz also loved travel and spent many glorious springs visiting her Mother in England with her brother John where they would always take the “long route” from Heathrow to Rothbury. They spent time in Wales, Stratford-on-Avon, Scotland, London, and Walton-on Thames amongst other places. She loved to ride on steam trains and drive across the open moors with the odd castle to explore thrown in now and then.
She leaves her loving family: her brothers E. John Hamer & Jane K. Thomson of Petaluma, CA and Richard C. & Gloria A. Hamer of Colorado Springs, CO; Elizabeth’s children and grandchildren Dan P. Vincent & Erica Devriendt of Washington, NH; Mary E. Vincent & Jared Woodruff of Providence, RI; Melissa R., Tim C. & Leah M. Hutchinson of Tiverton, RI; and Valerie M. Marvel, Blake Stott and her children, Matthew, Sarah and Crystal of Nashua and M. Steven Petit of Texas.
