Mary Beverly (Bergman) Santini, 85, died Sunday June 21, 2009, at the Pleasant View Center in Concord, NH. She was born March 8, 1924, in Madison, WI to John G. & Hannah A. (Macaulay) Bergman. Bev lived for many years in Old Lyme, CT before moving to Henniker, NH in 1985. In an early career as a professional vocalist, Bev performed in an ensemble with her sisters, known as the Doleens. The group performed in clubs around the U.S., on radio and television and served in the USO in Japan, Korea and the South Pacific. Her career also included service as “Rosie the riveter” in Detroit, MI during WWII. Bev was an avid, knowledgeable and accomplished gardener, as well as a beloved homemaker, mother and grandmother. Bev’s generous spirit included many years of volunteerism. Her retirement years were rich with family and friends, as well as time spent with her passion for great literature. Her personal effects include an expansive library, as well as numerous lists of books to be acquired, savored and passed along to others. Bev is survived by her children, Maria B. Cann of Henniker, NH, Lucia B. & Bruce A. Field of Wrentham, MA, John A. & Robin Santini of Wakefield, RI; siblings, Margaret I. Meissner of Stuart, FL, Ellen B. & Stephen Masty of Stuart, FL, John G. & Susan Bergman of Menomonee Falls, WI, and her grandchildren Robert, Jeffrey, Matthew and Mary Cann, Samuel and Bianca Field, Julia and John Santini, and Shaina Burrows. She was pre-deceased by her sisters, Shirley A. Yeunger, Jacqueline L. Farago and Nancy B. Parthum, and by her son-in-law David N. Cann. Services and burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
