Ruth N. Palmer, 80, of Weare, NH, died February 11, 2009 at Hospice House in Concord, NH. She was born in Brooklyn, New York the daughter of Naomi and Robert Bacon. She lived in Long Island, New York, and Westfield, New Jersey moving to New Hampshire in 1989. She graduated from Westfield High School, Westfield, New Jersey 1946. She was a graduate of the Overlook Hospital School of Nursing, Summit, New Jersey 1949. She was certified in Coronary Care, Emergency and Critical Care Nursing. She used these skills in her many years as an Emergency Room Nurse. She was preceptor in the Emergency room. She retired in 1989. Ruth was a member of the Overlook Hospital Nurses Alumnae Association, Deering Community Church and the Deering Community Church Women’s Guild. She cherished time spent with her family and enjoyed reading and volunteer projects. She and her husband were constant companions and always enjoyed spending time together. She is survived by her husband Lawrence A. Palmer of Weare, NH, two sons, Robert L. Palmer and his wife Sharon M. Palmer of Petaluma, California, Raymond S. Palmer of Deering, NH, four grand children, Camille M. Palmer of Petaluma, California, Emily J. Palmer, Robyn E. Palmer, Allison F. Palmer all of Deering, NH, one great grandson Keith L James, of Deering, NH, several nieces and nephews. Services will be held Sat March 21,2009 at 11 AM in the Deering Community Church, Deering, NH, The Rev Peter Lovejoy will officiate.
